Deep dive: What high-tech diagnostics reveal

Our device-based skin diagnostics use various light spectra (such as polarized light and UV light) to visualize layers that are invisible to the naked eye.

  • UV damage & pigmentation: We make sun damage deep in the dermis visible before it appears on the surface as brown spots.
  • Vascular structures: Fine veins, redness and inflammatory foci (e.g. in early rosacea) are precisely mapped.
  • Skin texture & pores: An analysis of pore structure and sebum production enables us to tailor medical peels or skin boosters to your skin with millimetre precision.

The medical difference: prescriptions instead of sales pitches

Many institutes use skin analyses primarily as a sales conversation to then offer you expensive, in-house skincare lines. In my medical practice, things are completely different: we are independent of manufacturers. Over-the-counter skincare products are legally only allowed to act on the surface of the skin. However, if your skin analysis reveals deeper problems (such as severe sun damage, rosacea or stubborn blemishes), I, as a physician, can prescribe highly effective, prescription-only medications where appropriate (e.g. with medical azelaic acid or tretinoin). You receive an evidence-based treatment plan from me with clear active ingredient recommendations, not a sales event.

Frequently asked questions about skin analysis

+ Do I have to buy expensive skincare products at the practice after the analysis?
No. Our goal is your skin health. You receive clear, independent recommendations from me for active ingredients (such as retinol, vitamin C or niacinamide) that you should integrate into your daily routine. You can then purchase these products yourself, completely flexibly and independent of specific brands, or have them compounded in a pharmacy on prescription from me.
+ Does the analysis hurt or is it uncomfortable?
The analysis is completely contactless and absolutely painless. Only high-resolution images of your face are taken under different lighting conditions. This takes just a few seconds.
+ Is the analysis only useful before the first treatment?
The first analysis is our “baseline measurement”. However, we recommend repeating the images over the course of your medical treatment (e.g. after a course of medical peels or prescription active ingredients). This way, we can demonstrate the structural improvements to your skin objectively and measurably.
