For women who wear lipstick, the effect is particularly noticeable — the color bleeds into the lines and makes them even more prominent.

This is because the area is too mobile and the wrinkles are too deeply ingrained in the skin structure. What is realistically possible: a noticeable smoothing that makes the overall appearance of the mouth area calmer and fresher. And: Lipstick no longer bleeds into the lines. That may sound unspectacular — but it isn’t when you experience it.

+How long does the result last?
In the highly mobile lip area, hyaluronic acid lasts shorter than in less active areas — typically 4 to 6 months. Regular refreshers at this rhythm continuously maintain the result. Complementary treatments like skinboosters improve skin quality in the area long-term and extend the result.
+Can Botox help with perioral lines?
Theoretically yes — but with caution. A very small amount of Botox can reduce muscle movement around the lips and thus slow down wrinkle formation. However, too much Botox in this zone impairs speaking and drinking. It is an option that must be weighed individually — and which I only use very sparingly and after careful analysis.
+Is the treatment painful?
The skin around the mouth is more sensitive than the cheeks or forehead. I routinely recommend an anesthetic cream before the treatment — this makes the treatment well-tolerated by most patients. The hyaluronic acid products used for this zone also contain Lidocaine.
