Description

A medical concern, not a taboo

Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the intimate area, in the groin or in the buttock crease is very common, but is almost never spoken about openly due to shame. Constant changing of clothes, skin irritation or the fear of visible stains dominate everyday life. In my private practice in Herzogenaurach, we offer you a discreet, absolutely trustworthy environment to solve this problem medically.

Many female patients from Erlangen, Fürth and Nuremberg deliberately seek out our specialist practice because they know that we take their concerns seriously and treat them at the highest medical level.

Deep dive: How botulinum works against sweating

Botulinum toxin is not only a gold standard in wrinkle treatment, but also in sweat therapy. While it relaxes the muscle in wrinkle treatment, it blocks the transmission of nerve signals to the eccrine sweat glands in the skin (inhibition of acetylcholine).

  • Precise blockade: The sweat glands no longer receive the signal to produce sweat. The area remains dry.
  • Skin protection: Due to the dryness, unpleasant friction, soreness (intertrigo) and chronic skin irritations in the intimate area are effectively prevented.
  • Safety: The body’s natural temperature regulation is not impaired, as the treated area is very small in relation to the rest of the body surface.

Anesthesia standard: Maximum pain reduction

The intimate area is, anatomically, extremely sensitive to pain. This is where my key advantage as a specialist in anesthesiology comes into play. We not only use special, highly numbing medical creams, but can also make the areas almost pain-free, if needed, with targeted local nerve blocks. We also use ultra-fine Nanosoft needles to make the treatment as comfortable and relaxed as possible for you.

Frequently asked questions about intimate hyperhidrosis

+ When will I see the result and how long does it last?
The sweat-reducing effect builds up after about 3 to 7 days. The final, dry result is noticeable after around 14 days. The effect is very long-lasting and, in our experience, lasts between 6 and 9 months in these regions.
+ Is the treatment really safe?
Yes. The injection is administered very superficially, directly into the skin (intradermally), exactly where the sweat glands are located. Deeper tissue layers or internal organs are absolutely not affected.
+ Will I sweat more on other parts of my body afterwards?
So-called compensatory sweating (suddenly sweating excessively on the back because the intimate area is dry) generally does not occur with local botulinum therapy. Your body continues to regulate its temperature without any problems via the remaining millions of sweat glands.
