Aesthetic Emergency Medicine — Dr. Ackermann

Correcting Faulty Fillers.
Ultrasound-Guided Safety for Complications.

A result that doesn't fit you? Asymmetries, lumps, or the "Tyndall Effect" (bluish shimmer)? Many patients come to me in despair after a treatment elsewhere didn't go as planned.

The good news: Hyaluronic acid is reversible. We can dissolve the material with Hylase (Hyaluronidase). But this requires the high precision.

Why "Blind" is Dangerous: The Ultrasound Advantage

Many practitioners inject Hylase "on good luck" into the affected region. This carries the risk of hitting the body's own tissue or not fully reaching the hyaluron.

My Standard in Herzogenaurach: I work ultrasound-guided. I "see" the filler depot under the skin. I can guide the needle exactly into the material and dissolve it in a controlled manner. This is the highest safety standard ("High-Resolution Ultrasound") you can find in the Erlangen/Nuremberg region.

Correction Process

  • Analysis: We examine the area (touch & ultrasound).
  • Allergy Test: We test a tiny amount of Hylase on your forearm first (safety first).
  • Dissolving: The enzyme is injected. The effect is often visible immediately.
  • New Beginnings: After about 2 weeks, we can discuss a correct, aesthetic reconstruction.

Frequently asked

Can hyaluronic acid be dissolved without hyaluronidase?

A hyaluronic acid filler can only be dissolved precisely and completely by enzymatic means — using hyaluronidase (Hylase), the established method documented in the literature. Without hyaluronidase the body does break hyaluronic acid down over time, but depending on the product this can take many months and cannot be controlled or accelerated. Heat, massage or hypertonic saline are not considered reliable alternatives. If a filler result is bothersome, enzymatic dissolving is therefore usually the most sensible route.
