A double chin is rarely just a fat problem. Almost always, two factors play a role: submental fat, which accumulates under the chin due to genetics or age, and a loss of skin firmness, which causes the tissue to sag downwards. Those who only treat the fat without tightening the skin risk loose, sagging skin after fat reduction. Those who only tighten without reducing the fat volume are fighting against a cause that remains.

Double chin HIFU addresses both factors in one treatment — this is the decisive advantage over procedures that only target one level. How Double Chin HIFU Works

For double chin treatment, two transducers are used — each at a different level:

2 MHz · 6–13 mm depth

Lipolysis: Thermal destruction of fat cells in the submental fat deposit. Temperature at the focal point: 56–70 °C. Fat cells die, are broken down via the lymphatic system. No mechanical pressure, no cannulas.

4 MHz · 3.0 + 1.5 mm

Tightening: Simultaneous treatment of the dermal layers. Collagen contraction immediately, neocollagenesis over months. The skin follows the new contour — instead of sagging after fat reduction.

Fat reduction is a gradual process: the destroyed adipocytes are broken down by the body over 6–12 weeks. Contour improvement is therefore most clearly visible after 2–3 months — and this is an advantage, not a disadvantage. A natural-looking result is achieved because the change occurs slowly.

+How many sessions are needed?
For a moderate submental fat deposit, one session is often sufficient. For more pronounced findings or if maximum reduction is desired, two sessions can be recommended 8–12 weeks apart — only when the initial fat reduction is complete can the overall need be assessed. We will discuss this after the first treatment based on the results.
+How much fat can HIFU reduce on the chin?
HIFU is not a substitute for surgical liposuction for large fat volumes. The method is suitable for small to medium submental fat deposits — when a fat fold of at least 2–3 cm is present. For a very pronounced double chin, surgical consultation is honestly recommended. For the typical double chin caused by age-related sagging and moderate fat, HIFU is the most elegant non-invasive solution.
+Is the treatment painful?
The submental zone is less sensitive than the face. The CFU gliding technique with an active cooling system makes the treatment well-tolerated by most patients. A tingling or warming sensation during treatment is normal. Painkillers or anesthesia are generally not necessary.
+What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
You are presentable immediately afterwards. Slight redness or a feeling of tension on the chin subsides within hours. Avoid sports, sauna, and intense heat for 48 hours. Drink enough water — fat reduction occurs via the lymphatic and vascular system, and good hydration supports this process.
