Deep Cleansing
Professional skin extraction — manual and device-assisted by a trained aesthetician or doctor. For acne, blackheads, clogged pores, or as targeted skin preparation before other treatments.
Description
Professional skin cleansing — manually and with device support by trained cosmetician or doctor. For acne, blackheads, clogged pores or as targeted skin preparation before other treatments.
A professional cleansing is more than a cosmetic routine. It frees the skin from comedones, keratinization, and excess sebum — carefully, hygienically, and adapted to the individual skin condition. We combine manual and device-supported procedures, depending on the findings and treatment goals.
“Thorough cleansing is the foundation for clear skin — and often the underestimated prerequisite for the success of further treatments.”

Methods — manual and device-supported
The individual skin condition determines which method or combination of methods will be used. Both procedures complement each other and are usually combined specifically within one session.
Manual Cleansing
Careful removal of comedones and keratinization by trained specialists — after preparatory steam for pore opening.
- Hygienically sterile working method
- Palpation-guided procedure
- Gentle pressure application
- Documentation of skin findings
Device-supported Cleansing
In addition to manual techniques, vacuum cleaning and ultrasonic scalpels are used depending on the skin condition.
- Vacuum: gentle deep cleansing of the pores
- Ultrasonic scalpel: gentle loosening of keratinized skin flakes
- Even treatment of larger skin areas
- Reduced mechanical pressure
Indications — when cleansing makes sense
We use cleansing in four typical situations. Which method is prioritized depends on the individual skin findings.
Acne and impure skin
For active acne, cleansing helps reduce inflammation and prevent new comedones. An effective complementary component in combination with medical acne therapy.
Blackheads and clogged pores
Stubborn comedones, enlarged pores, and an uneven skin texture can be effectively addressed by professional cleansing — simply and without aesthetic risks.
Skincare as a Routine
Even without acute skin problems, regular deep cleansing is beneficial — for the purity of the skin, the absorption capacity of skincare products, and the overall skin feeling.
Preparation for other treatments
Before microneedling, chemical peels, or LED phototherapy, deep cleansing creates optimal conditions — cleaner skin, better active ingredient absorption, improved treatment results.
Two Application Contexts
With us, deep cleansing is offered in both a purely cosmetic and medically supervised context. The occasion determines the setting.
Wellness and Care Routine
For purely cosmetic needs, our trained beautician performs the deep cleansing — as a standalone treatment or as part of a skincare routine.
- Regular skin hygiene
- Preparation for special occasions
- Add-on to cosmetic treatments
- Wellness component of a skincare regimen
Therapeutic Application
For medical indications, deep cleansing is performed within the framework of medical treatment plans — with prior diagnostics and follow-up control.
- Accompanying medical acne therapy
- Preparation for medical procedures
- For chronically clogged pores
- For specific skin condition problems
Treatment Process
A deep cleansing typically lasts 45 to 75 minutes, depending on the skin condition and combination of methods. It is non-invasive in the stricter sense but should be followed by some recovery time for the skin.
Anamnesis and Skin Analysis
We discuss with you the current skin condition, potential skin sensitivities, skincare products used, and the treatment goal. Based on this, we select the appropriate combination of methods.
Cleansing and Skin Preparation
Make-up, skincare products, and impurities are thoroughly removed. Gentle preparation of the skin — usually with warm steam — opens the pores and facilitates the subsequent deep cleansing.
Deep Cleansing
Manual and device-supported techniques are used depending on the findings. Comedones, cornification, and excess sebum are hygienically removed — with particular caution in sensitive skin areas.
Soothing and Care
Afterwards, the skin is soothed — usually with a tailored mask or an anti-inflammatory active ingredient complex. If necessary, LED phototherapy can follow for further soothing.
Aftercare Recommendations
You will receive specific instructions for skin care in the following 24 to 48 hours — sun protection, gentle cleansing, avoidance of occlusive care. The next suitable treatment appointment will be discussed.
For active acne or pronounced comedones, we typically recommend a series of treatments at closer intervals. For a pure care routine, sessions every 4 to 8 weeks are often sufficient. We will discuss the individual concept during the consultation.
Realistic Expectations
A cleansing creates immediately visible clarity — comedones are removed, the complexion appears more even, the skin absorbs care better. In the first 24 hours, the skin may be slightly reddened or sensitive — this is normal and subsides quickly.
For chronic acne or stubborn skin problems, a single session is usually not sufficient. A series of treatments achieves significantly better and more sustainable results than a single treatment. Cleansing is not a substitute for medical acne therapy — it complements it.
When not to treat
- Acute, highly inflammatory acne with pustules and nodules — here, medical acne clarification first
- Active skin infections — bacterial, viral, or fungal
- Fresh sunburns or irritated, reddened skin
- Recent aesthetic procedures in the treatment area (e.g., filler injection, microneedling) — minimum interval to be clarified individually
- Photosensitizing medications — caution with concomitant light application
- Pronounced couperose or fragile vessels — pressure application requires particular care
In the preliminary consultation, we will check your individual situation and, if necessary, decide on alternative or preliminary treatments.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I get a deep cleansing?
That depends on your skin condition. For active acne or highly sebum-producing skin, we initially recommend monthly treatments — until the skin’s appearance stabilizes. For a regular skincare routine, appointments every 6 to 8 weeks are usually sufficient. For very dry or mature skin, even much less frequently.
Does a deep cleansing hurt?
During manual deep cleansing, slight pressure pain may be felt in individual, stubborn areas. Device-assisted procedures are largely pain-free. Overall, the treatment is well-tolerated — we continuously work based on your feedback.
Can I go straight back to the office after the treatment?
Usually, yes. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may be slightly red — this usually subsides within a few hours. However, make-up should be avoided for 12 to 24 hours to allow the freshly cleansed skin to breathe and calm down.
What is the difference between cosmetic and medically supervised deep cleansing?
In terms of method, little — the techniques are similar. The difference lies in the occasion and the legal framework. A cosmetically motivated deep cleansing is performed by our trained beautician as part of a skincare routine. Medically supervised deep cleansing is part of a medical treatment plan, including diagnostics, medical indication, and progress monitoring.
Can I combine deep cleansing with other treatments?
Yes, many of our patients do that. Common useful combinations: deep cleansing followed by LED phototherapy for soothing, or as preparation for a chemical peel or microneedling. Some aesthetic treatments — such as fillers — should be separated in time from the deep cleansing.
How much does a deep cleansing cost?
The costs depend on whether the treatment is purely cosmetic or medically supervised, how extensive the session is, and whether additional procedures (mask, LED) are integrated. You can see the guideline price above — the exact billing is based on the scope of treatment.
Note on the method: The deep cleansing in our practice combines classic manual techniques with device-assisted procedures (vacuum, ultrasonic scalpel). Both are performed hygienically according to applicable standards.
